Liturgical Ministries

There are many opportunities available in which to participate in the Liturgical Ministry at Mother of Perpetual Help Parish. All ministries are scheduled using Ministry Scheduler Pro – so you can set your preferences and manage your availability, making it easy to add Liturgical Ministry service to your life schedule.

Ministry of Lectors:

Lectors are men and women who have a strong sense of commitment to proclaim the Word of God at liturgy. Training and resource books are provided to readers to assist their ministry.

Eucharistic Ministers (Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist):

Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Jesus at Mass. Training is provided using guidelines set forth by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB.org) and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

Ministry of Acolytes:

Acolytes are trained to assist the priest at Mass. Men and women ages 10 years and up are welcome to serve at all Masses.

Ministry of Gift Bearers: Gift bearers bring up bread and wine at Mass, representing the entire congregation and all of our offerings. Please consider being one of our representatives if asked by one of our ushers at Mass.

Art and Environment:

The worship spaces at both sites are beautifully prepared for various season and liturgical celebrations throughout the year. Assistance from artists and non-artists is always needed.

Ministry of Sacristan:

The ministry of sacristan cares for the details of the Mass by preparing the sacred vessels, the bread and wine to be concecrated for Mass. After Mass, they clean up and leave the sacristy in order. These ministers provide a beautiful, clean and welcoming environment for prayer in our beautiful churches.
